A shipping container home sounds like something that would only exist in the post-apocalypse, but people have begun to found really creative, elegant ways to utilize these containers to create homes that are absolutely stunning. The Huiini House in Mexico was created using four shipping containers, two for the first floor and two for the second. The design has the shipping containers slightly offset so that there can be an upper deck as well as a balcony on the second floor. The corrugated metal of the exteriors makes it clear that the homes were constructed out of shipping containers, but the huge windows cut into the sides are the first indication that this home is much more than it appears. The interior is the ideal modern home. Everything inside is comprised of sharp, crisp, clean lines from the kitchen cabinetry to the railings overlooking the main living area.
